Meet Ed's wife, Nancy Strickler. It is her mission to help Ed’s story be heard, and for his story to be an empowerment to anyone affected by kidney diseases, to send a compelling message: it's never too early, nor too late, to fight for your life- as Nancy tells Ed, “Your Fight, Is Our Fight.”
At the heart of this journey lies a profound and moving mission, fueled by the steadfast love of a wife for her husband. Driven by a heartfelt commitment, she embarked on a quest to find a living kidney donor for Ed, fueled by the dream of a future where Ed's life is not just preserved but flourishes—filled with health, boundless opportunities, and enveloped in the love of friends and family. This mission extends beyond the realm of medical procedures; it serves as a beacon of hope, lighting the way to a life rich with memorable experiences, joy, and shared moments that define the essence of existence. With a combination of digital marketing and fundraising efforts, the goal transcends merely securing a kidney donation for Ed—it's about ensuring he lives a life surrounded by love and the prospect of endless tomorrows.
As the story of Ed's journey spread across social media, a profound realization emerged: Ed's struggle is far from singular. With 1 in 7 Americans grappling with kidney disease, amounting to 37 million people in 2024, according to the National Center For Disease Control and Prevention, the echoes of Ed's battle resonate widely. Encounters with numerous individuals, each sharing their own stories of hope and hardship, underscored the lack of information provided to some recipients and that support comes in all forms, one of which is simply feeling heard, by listening to another person’s story.
Everyone’s journey to a living kidney donor is different, and the information shared on this site is the journey of a man named, Ed, and his wife who has made it her mission to gain as much information as possible from a combination of sources provided to her and via personal research. Furthermore, it is now Ed's wife’s mission to also help Ed’s story be heard, for his story to be an empowerment to anyone affected by kidney diseases, to send a compelling message: it's never too early, nor too late, to fight for your life, as Ed’s wife tells him,
“Your Fight, Is Our Fight.”
